The highly polished bronze donut is located on a spigot and is very easily removed whenever re-polishing is needed to counteract touch or time, sea-washed granite from the far end of Cornwall, it's surface shaped by time and water and distinctly marked by feldspar inclusions, lies horizontally on a solid oak base.A brightly reflective polished bronze ring sits atop the stone.It is not fixed and can be set at whatever angle pleases.The bronze will tarnish naturally over time or more rapidly from fingerprints and can be easily removed for polishing.The contrast in textures and shapes lie at the heart of the sculpture while at the same time celebrating the mesmerising beauty of what is often called Land’s End Granite.
